Net proceeds from the Mardi Gras-Goodland Boat Parade will be donated to Avow Hospice. Avow Hospice is a program of health care that provides comfort and support to terminally ill persons and their families, primarily in the home. As a not-for-profit community-supported program, Hospice relys in part on fund raising efforts such as the Goodland Boat Parade.

Founded in 1983, Hospice serves Collier County with a complete package of services including: nursing, social work, chaplaincy, bereavement support and trained volunteers. Hospice services are supplied regardless of race, religion, age, sex, etchnic background, handicap or financial resources. Goodland's residents and visitors have a strong history of support for Hospice. The Eleventh annual event will raise funds through boat parade registration fees, t-shirt sales, raffles, auctions and other special events at the various spectator points.
