Local boaters are making preparations for the Twelfth annual Mardi Gras-Goodland boat parade. Entrants will pick an idea connected with this year's theme,"Colors".  Pick any idea associated with a Color and decorate your crew and boat to depict it. The emphasis will be on fun, so extravangance is NOT required. Boats of all shapes and sizes are welcome! Previous prize winners have included a life raft, jet skis, fishing and pleasure boats, and the Tiki Islander.

The parade will begin at 2 pm at the Barge Marina, take a turn through the Goodland Harbor and circumnavigate the island. There will be a brief mandatory captain's meeting on the morning of the parade where a $10 registration fee will be collected and final instructions and numbers will be distributed.
